Southern California is lucky to have some great organizations working for clean water. Part of our passion over here at Seventy1 is to collaborate with like-minded community groups to protect our environment. As a company, we are dedicated to reducing the amount of harmful pollutants that enter our oceans through the maintenance of stormwater systems. We are also committed to educating the local community by raising awareness about the impact that stormwater runoff has on our waterways. Here’s a snapshot of some great local organizations to check out if you are interested in getting involved…

3 Local Organizations Committed to Cleaner Water

San Diego Coastkeeper

San Diego Coastkeeper protects fishable, swimmable and drinkable waters in San Diego County. Since 1995 they have acted as the region’s “clean water watch dogs” helping to identify solutions to problems such as water supply challenges and urban runoff. SD Coastkeeper empowers San Diegans to guard their clean water and healthy ecosystem through community outreach, education and advocacy to fix pollution hazards. Check out the SD Coastkeeper Blog for educational articles on the local San Diego water supply + marine environment.

Surfrider Foundation San Diego

The Surfrider Foundation San Diego is a grassroots nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer at a Beach Cleanup if you want to get involved in protecting the local beaches.

I Love a Clean San Diego

For over 60 years, I Love a Clean San Diego (ILACSD) has been an environmental catalyst for the local San Diego community, awakening passion and inspiring action, empowering everyone to improve the health and beauty of the local environment. ILACSD educates the community on the potential pollutants that can flow into the ocean through the storm drain system.  If you want to get involved you can volunteer to help prevent stormwater pollution by participating in storm drain stenciling or attending a cleanup event.
